Recently, Britney Spears announced her plans to write a book. She is in talks for a book deal with publisher It Books. Should the novel get the green light, Spears will join the group of celebrities gone authors that includes: the Kardashians, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Lauren Conrad.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Britney Spears is pretty close to getting the book deal that will enable her to proceed with her plans to write a novel. The pop star and X Factor judge’s reps confirmed she was in discussions with the It Books. The Harper Collins imprint has published various musicians’ memoirs in the past, like Sammy Hagar, The Game and Motley Crue autobiographies. However, It Books did not confirm such discussions are actually taking place.
Spears chose to write a roman a clef that would include fictionalized versions of personal experiences. As such, she will be following a pattern that brought success to Lauren Conrad’s New York Times bestseller, “L.A. Candy”. The story of the book revolves around the life changes undergone by a girl who moves to LA and becomes a reality show star. Conrad, former star of “The Hills”, wrote two more books since her first success as an author.
No information is available yet on a possible date scheduled for the release of Britney’s book but a substantial advance is almost sure. The pop superstar is being royally paid for her appearance on X Factor, as rumors say her pay check might go as high as $15 million. The singer sold almost 100 million albums all around the world during her career.
