Katie Holmes is yet another celebrity who values spending the holidays with her family. For this year, the actress decided to spend her first Thanksgiving since the split from Tom Cruise at her parents’ house in Ohio alongside her daughter, Suri.
The Turkey Day festivities in the Holmes family include not only the common decorating and feasting but also taking part in a local park run. During a recent interview on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon”, the brunette beauty chatted about the 3-mile long run tradition started many years ago by none other than her father. The “Turkey Trot” is a casual run that takes place on Thanksgiving day which offers a restaurant gift certificate prize for the winner, a distinction the actress is yet to receive.
However, Katie’s first Thanksgiving vacation away from Cruise will be somewhat short lived. Holmes will be spending only one day at her parents’ house, as she is due back to work on Friday.
The actress co-stars in the Broadway show “Dead Accounts” alongside Josh Hamilton and Norbert Leo Butz., a project she is happy to be involved in. Holmes loves being back to stage play and reuniting once more with the Broadway community, which she finds very supportive and fun to be a part of. “Everyone is supportive of each other so I’m having a great time”, she told Jimmy.
