Christmas is closing in fast and what better way to get in the holiday spirit than browsing through fun recipes and picking the cutest ideas to decorate your special dinner table with delicious gorgeous looking treats. Let’s look over some holiday cupcake decorations you can try!
Let’s start with the Rudolph and Friends Cupcakes. These chocolate flavored reindeer resembling goodies will bring Santa’s sleigh faster to your doorway. You will need pretzels, chocolate frosted cupcakes, Tootsie Roll Midgees, mini vanilla wafers, red, brown and white M&Ms and black decorating gel. For starters, shape two pretzels into antlers and press them into the top of a chocolate frosted cupcake. Use two white M&Ms underneath to make the eyes and dot them with black decorating gel. Then press in a mini vanilla wafer on the opposite side of the cupcake to make the snout and use a small dab of frosting to attach a red or brown M&M to make the nose. All is left to do is to shape the ears from a third of a Tootsie Roll Midgee and place them on the sides of the antlers.
The Snowflakes are probably the easiest way to decorate your cupcakes while still having them look nicely put together. All you have to do is coat your frosted cupcakes with red and green sprinkles and add a fondant snowflake to the top. You can find the snowflakes at a local bakery or specialty foods store.
For a combination of sweet and sour flavors you can choose to spice up a classic vanilla cupcake and turn it into a sugared cranberry one. All you need to do is add fresh cranberry filling to the classic vanilla cupcake, ice it with vanilla icing and decorate the top with sugared cranberries and fondant leaves.
And finally, if you want to let your imagination loose, make some Santa Set cupcakes, using red and white fondant to add candy canes, snowmen, Santa hats and bows to your regular frosted cupcakes.
