Usher’s son, Usher Raymond V is in hospital, after having a serious accident at the pool. The 5-year-old boy caught his arm in the pool drain while trying to reach for a toy. Even though he is now stable, he lost consciousness at the place of the accident and required CPR.
Usher Raymond V, one of the sons of famous music artist Usher and his now ex, Tameka Foster, was rushed to an intensive care unit of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite in Atlanta, Georgia following a pool accident. According to a police report mentioned by omg!, the boy was trying to get a toy when his arm got stuck in the pool drain. The accident occurred in the presence of his aunt and a maid, who immediately came to his rescue. When they didn’t manage to get him out, they started crying for help and two audio-visual subcontractors came to the rescue. They got him out of the pool and one of them gave the boy CPR.
Usher, who was not at home at the time of the accident, rushed to the ICU as soon as he received the news. One of his staff members called Tameka Foster. “She almost collapsed when she heard the news”, a source told People magazine, adding: “She is not going to leave his side now”.
Foster, who was married to Usher from 2007 to 2009, had a son from a previous relationship, who died after a jet ski crash. 11-year-old Kyle was taken off life support after being declared brain dead, in July 2012.
Foster and Usher, 34, are currently going through a very public child custody dispute, with him accusing her of being inattentive, unstable and irresponsible mother, and her stating he is an absentee father.
On Tuesday, Foster filed for custody of both their sons, Usher Raymond V, 5 and Naviyd Ely Raymond, 3.
