Hip hop mogul Snoop Dogg is lending his voice to an upcoming “Call of Duty: Ghosts” custom extra pack. He is going to be the new narrative voice in the shooter video game extra, available starting April 22.
The writers for the voice over comments in the new packs adapted the text for the rapper, as he himself says, in a behind-the-scenes trailer. “I think the writers did a good job in creating the lines specifically for me,” he says. “They knew my flavor, and they allowed me to do my thing and put a little Snoopism on top of it”.
The 42-year-old Snoop Dogg reveals that many in the hip hop industry are “Call of Duty” fans: “Nine out of 10 rappers play this game.” The reason is: “It’s so real, it’ll put you right there. […] A lot of my homies play this game.”
His “Snoopism” is contrasting with R. Lee Ermey’s voice, lent to the Drill Instructor, which sells into a different pack. Each pack will be $ 2.99 and will also include character and weapon customizations. They will be made available starting April 22, for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The players using PlayStation and PC platforms will have to wait just a little bit longer.
