Ozzy Osbourne says he is not a sex addict, as he let people believe last year, after his affair became public. He confesses: “I just got caught”.
Ozzy Osbourne is just the latest celebrity that proves it is more shameful to be seen as a cheater than as a sex addict. The rocker tells The Times that the real reason behind his affair last year was not a medical condition. “I just got caught”, he admitted. “I don’t think I’m a f—ing sex addict”, he added.
The Black Sabbath frontman explains that “there have always been groupies” since, you know, he’s in a rock band’n’all…
Last year, in August, 68-year-old Osbourne admitted he had been having a “purely physical” relationship with Michelle Pugh, a hairstylist. He also said that his mistress took the relationship out of the context, adding a romantic vibe to it, which was not the case. He went on apologizing to “other women”, he’s had sex with as a result of his sex addiction exposure. Since the press exposed this, I have gone into intense therapy, the musician concluded.
The affair was not taken lightly by Ozzy’s family. Daughter Kelly tweeted Pugh’s phone number as early as May of 2016. When some of the followers slammed her for doing that, advising her to focus her anger on her father and not his mistress, she backlashed: “Are you in my family? NO YOU ARE NOT. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SHE DID! So keep your high-mighty opinions to yourself!”
Ozzy seems to have worked things out with 64-year-old wife Sharon, with whom he has been married for over 35 years. “In any marriage you grow apart if you don’t spend enough time together, and that was part of the problem”, he now tells The Times in the interview. “Not a day goes by when we don’t speak or text,” he adds.
