In late January, the Associated Press reported that Madonna was going forward with a process of adoption of two children from Malawi. On January 25, the singer had a hearing at the Malawi High Court. And it looks like the Court found her suitable to be the mother of the children whom she was seeking to make her own: twin girls.

Madonna shared the great news on Instagram, posting a photo of herself walking hand in hand with the two girls, who were wearing identical dresses.  “I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family”, she captioned the photo, adding that she was “deeply grateful” to all the people in Malawi who were involved in the adoption process. “I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time”, she continued.

She later posted a photo from the Home of Hope orphanage in Malawi, where she adopted the twins from. With the occasion, she revealed the names of the girls – Estere and Stelle – and their age – 4-years-old. The twins have been in the orphanage since they were 5-days-old.

The singer also mentioned it was the same place where she adopted her son David from, more than a decade ago.  “Run by the generous and compassionate Rev. Chipeto and his daughter Lucy, Raising Malawi has been working with HOH for over 10 years since I met my son David there.”

guidance.” The Judge also mentioned that she took into account the fact that Madonna was “a professional performer and was ready to sniff out “a well-rehearsed speech”. She asked the singer “rather uncomfortable questions, to which she gave very candid answers.”

Madonna has decided to keep the twins’ birth names in order to make their transition as easy as possible and to preserve their connection with their country of birth.

The pop diva will now be a mother-of-6. She has two children of her own – daughter Lourdes and son Rocco – and four adopted – son David, daughter Mercy and twins Estere and Stelle. All four were adopted from Malawi.
