Harry Potter actor Jim Tavare is in hospital, in serious condition, after a car crash. Tavare sustained multiple injuries, including a punctured lung and a broken neck.

On Tuesday, the 53-year-old actor was in the ICU of a hospital following a car accident. The news was shared by his wife, Laura, who posted on Jim’s Facebook page. She uploaded a photo of the movie star “wearing” an impressive collection of tubes, on a hospital bed, but still able to show a thumbs up.

“This is Laura here. Now that his family have been informed, Jim has asked me to let you all know that he was involved in a serious car accident yesterday, a head on collision”, the Facebook post read, adding that the actor was in ICU, in stable condition and that he had sustained multiple injuries. “He has 15 broken ribs, fractures in both breastbones, a punctured lung, multiple breaks in his right leg, and a broken neck.”

Tavare has had two blood transfusions and, at the time of the post, was getting ready to undergo surgery. “Please hold some good thoughts for him as he fights his way out of this”, the post was concluded.

Since then, there were no updates on his state, but we hope everything went as well as it can, in a case like this.

Even though the place of the accident has not been disclosed, it is possible that it could have taken place in Los Angeles, where Jim and Laura reside with their two children.

Born in 1963, Jim Tavare is best known for impersonating Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and also for UK television comedy programme The Sketch Show.
