Two weeks ago, Pricilla Presley put a stop to rumors that her granddaughters were in foster care, after their father, Michael Lockwood, was accused by estranged wife, Lisa Marie Presley, of child abuse. At the time, the wife of Elvis posted on Facebook a few photos of 8-year-old twin granddaughters Finley and Harper and thanked her fans for all the positive support.
Presley shared that the girls have not been in foster care for a moment, nor will ever be. She added that she is their temporary guardian, “until all this is sorted out”, referring to their parents’ bitter divorce.
55-year-old Michael Lockwood and 49-year-old Lisa Marie Presley have separated in June, 2016. In August, she has spent time apart from her family, checking into a rehab facility.
Lisa Marie Presley, who is seeking full custody of her daughters, filed court papers, in early February, claiming that her estranged husband had child pornography documents on his computer and it involved the twins. “When I discovered the photos on [Lockwood’s] computer and viewed the videos, I was shocked and horrified and sick to my stomach”, Presley wrote, adding that she did not know of their existence.
To her claims, Lockwood’s lawyers have replied that Presley was trying to ruin his image and get out of the monthly $40,000 spousal support that he requested. They called her allegations “highly sensational, inaccurate and unproven.” However, an investigation is ongoing.
Lisa Marie also filed papers sustaining that she is $7 million in debt and that she makes roughly $100,000 per month from Elvis’ estate.
In the midst of their divorce and custody battle, Priscilla Presley opened-up up to ET’s Cameron Mathison, saying: “This is very personal, and we’re still going through a lot of different scenarios”. She added: “Everything is trying to be sorted out, and done with dignity and done with care, especially for the children.”
