Four benefits of eating your breakfast

You’ve heard this dozens of times: “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” It may be a true statement, but most of us don’t suddenly feel the need to eat a healthier, richer breakfast after hearing this. However, there are some positive effects that would determine you to give breakfast a second thought.

Breakfast enhances you immune system. It’s a study in the Netherlands that says it.The research showed that eating in the morning helps the body release a natural antiviral called “gamma-interferon”, which activates the immune cells. The results of the study showed that skipping breakfast causes a drop of 17% in the gamma-interferon levels.

Breakfast improves the look of your skin. Of course, it depends on what you are having at breakfast. However, the most popular morning foods are eggs. They contain lutein, a carotenoid antioxidant which has a major role in providing the skin’s elasticity. Just one egg can boost your lutein levels by 26%. If you happen not to like eggs, you can easily find another lutein source: oatmeal, walnut pancakes.

Eating breakfast can have more benefits, from stabilizing your energy level throughout the day, to lowering your predisposition to fatal habits (excessive smoking and drinking), to creating the atmosphere of a healthy communication in the family.
