Here are the latest rumors on Sony’s next PlayStation: the device’s name could be “Orbis” and its release could be planned for the holidays season of next year.
PlayStation fans can now satisfy their curiosity regarding PlayStation 4. At least, some of it. Kotacu.com reported yesterday that the next PlayStation is called Orbis. The website cites a source who “is not authorized to talk publicly about next-gen hardware but has shared correct information with us before”. We take it the source was right at the time and thus, became reliable. So here are some other details that the unidentified but reliable source has shared:
The PlayStation Orbis’ GPU will be capable of displaying Orbis games at a resolution of up to 4096×2160.
It will not be compatible with PlayStation 3 games. The new games can be either downloaded, or bought on Blu-Ray. And in order to get them started, you will have to be online and have a PSN account.
When contacted, the Sony reps stated that it is the company’s policy not to comment on rumors and speculations.
