Bill Nye, the host of theBill Nye the Science Guy - children shouldn’t be taught creationism science show “Bill Nye the Science Guy”, which aired from 1993 to 1998 on Disney channel, says that children shouldn’t be taught that the world is based on creationism, but on evolution. In his opinion, the extreme right-wing Christian education is doing more harm than good, limiting a child’s mind.

Not only do the children not benefit from what creationism theory has to teach them, but the U.S. may have to suffer from it, as well. At a large scale, the United States are still a superpower, in part, due to the intellectual capital.

This is what TV kids show host Bill Nye, sustains. He states that there is uniqueness in the combination of the opposites that the U.S. drags: the country is one of the most advanced in the world, technologically and scientifically, and still, it practices the denial of evolution. “When you have a portion of the population that doesn’t believe in [evolution], it holds everybody back, really”, Nye said.

“And I say to the grownups, if you want to deny evolution and live in your world, in your world that’s completely inconsistent with everything we observe in the universe, that’s fine, but don’t make your kids do it because we need them”, the 56-year-old added.

“Your world just becomes fantastically complicated when you don’t believe in evolution. I mean, here are these ancient dinosaur bones or fossils, here is radioactivity, here are distant stars that are just like our star but they’re at a different point in their lifecycle[…] If you try to ignore that, your world view just becomes crazy, just untenable, itself inconsistent”.
