A few hours ago, a spokesperson for St. James Palace announced on behalf of Prince Williams and his wife, Kate Middleton, that the couple is expecting. The Duchess was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital earlier today with an acute form of morning sickness, which requires extra nutrient intake and supplementary hydration. The Prince has accompanied his wife at the hospital, according to the official statement.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby”, the statement read. “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.”
As for the health state of the mother-to-be, St. James Palace’s statement said that “Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter”. The pregnancy is reportedly still in the first trimester.
The royal baby will be the Queen’s third great-grandchild. Earlier this year, Peter and Autumn Phillips welcomed their second daughter, Isla Elizabeth. The two royalty members are also parents to 2-year-old Savannah. 35-year-old Peter is the son of Princess Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips. His two girls are twelve and thirteen in line for the British throne.
When Kate and William’s baby will be born, he or she will be the first rightful heir of UK’s Royal Family.
