According to the Daily News, Benjamin Millepied, accompanied by his famous actress wife and their son Aleph, will be soon enough seen strolling down the streets of the French capital.

As reported by New York Times, Millepied, 35, will be starting his new job as the director of dance for the Paris Opera Ballet in September 2014. The position was highly sought after and the object of serious competition.

Portman’s husband managed to surpass on his way to landing the job several former members of the company as well as current ones. He will be replacing Brigitte Lefevre, who will retire at the ending of the 2013-2014 season after almost 2 decades as director of the Opera Ballet.

The choreographer was astonished by his own success. “There was a really good chance I might get the position, which made my head spin,” he told The Times. He also commented on the Opera’s future artistic director, staring 2015, Stéphane Lissner, saying he was surprised by the Paris Opera Ballet’s choice but he “felt very quickly that the artistic dialogue between us was an exciting one.”

Portman had spoken in the past about her hope of at some point raising a family in France where strict privacy laws guard the celebrities’ lives from media intrusion to a greater degree than anywhere else in the world. She plans on moving on with her career and will consider acting offers from European film-makers.

The couple met in 2009 during the shooting for “Black Swan” when Millepied worked closely with his future wife for a performance that was going to be rewarded with an Oscar. They got married in California last August and have a 20-month old son.
