Jake Davidson, a teenager living in Southern California, recently posted a video online, asking model Kate Upton to his prom. Dressed-up like a gentleman and holding a bouquet of red roses, the high school senior hopes to take the Sports Illustrated star on to the dance floor.
High school student Jake Davidson has decided to make a step towards his greatest wish: taking a beautiful and famous girl to his prom. But not just any blonde. The teen is dreaming about spending the special evening with Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton.
Davidson has decided to film a romantic invite and post it online. The short video has been seen by over 30,000 people since it has gone viral. In it, Davidson points out some of the reasons Upton should accept his invitation: he is a fan of Sports Illustrated, he is only an inch shorter than her and while he can’t dance, he is a great admirer of her dancing skills shown on her “Cat Daddy’ video.
“Great moments are born from great opportunity”, says a hopeful Davidson, concluding: “And that is what you have here today. A chance to make a nice guy’s senior year the best ever.”
This invitation, as bold as it may seem, isn’t original. The first to try his luck in asking a celebrity out was Sgt. Scott Moore, who asked actress Mila Kunis to his Marine Corps Ball back in 2011. Around the same time, Justin Timberlake received the same request from Corporal Kelsy De Santis to her Ball. Both celebs honored the invitations. Following the event, Timberlake wrote on his blog that it was “one of the most moving evenings I’ve ever had…”
