We thought it couldn’t happen that soon, but Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries managed to finalize the divorce. No more drama regarding Kim’s marital status at the time of her baby’s birth! The Kardashians finally cut all ties with the NBA player.
When Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West shared the news that they were going to be parents pretty soon, speculation started that the two won’t be able to marry before the baby’s arrival, as Kim was still married to NBA player Kris Humphries. The former couple has been married for 72 days in 2011, before Kim filed for a divorce saying she was far from being happy with her new hubby. Kris felt cheated and accused the Kardashians of wanting to attract the attention of the media and make money off an event that was so highly publicized, after all. He asked for an annulment on the grounds that Kim committed fraud and was seeking $7 million.
But recently, the war between the two exes came to an end. Kim’s attorney announced on Friday that the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star was granted dissolution of marriage due to “irreconcilable differences.” Humphries did not attend. The judge advised him through his lawyer to “settle and move on”, as he could not prove that his marriage was a fraud.
TMZ reports that, in conclusion, Humphries will not receive the $7 million from Kim and each party has to pay their own attorney’s fees.
