Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth have been arrested on Friday in Atlanta, Georgia, for DUI and disorderly conduct. According to Variety, they are due in court on Monday morning.
On Friday morning, police officers in Atlanta, Georgia, pulled over a 2013 silver Ford Focus after seeing the driver could not maintain a lane while on the road. And… surprise! In the car there were Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon and her husband, Jim Toth, head of Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
According to the police report, Toth was asked to step out of the car and take a sobriety test and a breathalyzer. He was charged for DUI. Meanwhile, Witherspoon was still in the car, commenting that that was probably not a real officer. “I told Mrs. Witherspoon to sit on her butt and be quiet”, the report continued. The actress got out of the car and started threatening the officer, first asking if he knew who she was and then adding: “You’re about to find out who I am”. “I am not worried about you ma’am”, the officer said. The “Legally Blonde” star was arrested for disorderly conduct.
On Sunday evening, the 37-year-old actress showed up at the premiere of her film “Mud”, in New York City. She took photos, but did not talk to the press. Her co-star Matthew McConaughey refused to comment on the incident, as well.
Witherspoon and Toth, 42, got married in 2011 and have one child together – son Tennessee James, born last year in September. The actress has two children from her previous marriage with actor Ryan Phillippe – daughter Ava, 13, and son Deacon, 9.
