George Clooney and his girlfriend of two years, Stacy Keibler, recently split, an insider confirmed to omg! The reason for the split was the difference between the working schedules of the two. But this isn’t all bad news. Stacy may have parted ways from the most wanted Hollywood sworn bachelor, but dating him has made her numerous times richer.
Jo Piazza, the author of “Celebrity Inc.: How Famous People Make Money”, spoke to omg! about the rising numbers gravitating around the Stacy Keibler brand, which now are significantly higher than two years ago, before she started dating Clooney. “Knowing what I know, my ballpark estimate for her earnings increase is $10 million”, says Piazza.
The ways she made the extra millions include higher appearance fees and paid tweets, increasing number of brands approaches, TV gigs and famous designer dresses appearances.
According to Piazza, when Keibler was mostly known as “Super Stacy”, the WWE wrestler, she used to ask for $5,000 per appearance at an event. Now, her asking price rose to $40,000. Regarding the paid tweets “fee”, it went from $1,000 to $6,000.
When it comes to fashion brands, Stacy is now wearing Alaia, Lhullier and McQueen on the Red Carpet, whereas before Clooney, she “had to beg” to be dressed by top designers, says Piazza. Moreover, renowned companies are offering her endorsement gigs. “Prior to to Clooney, it’s unlikely that big-name brands would have approached her,” Piazza says. “But now they might pay her $50,000 to $100,000.”
In addition, Keibler has become a TV star, as well, hosting the Supermarket Superstar, the reality show airing on Lifetime.
And let’s not forget about the social impact of her now more famous face. Henry Schafer, of the Q Scores Company, says that over the last two years Stacy Keibler’s awareness level among young women “jumped from 23 percent familiarity up to 30 percent”.
Not a bad move dating Clooney, huh?
The break-up news was first reported by People magazine, based on the information of an undisclosed source, who was claiming that Keibler called it quits because she wanted to focus on marriage and children at this point of her life, and she knew where Clooney stood on the matter. But another source, speaking to omg!, denies that has been the reason. Keibler was far from settling down just last fall, when she told E! Online: “I’m not really interested in thinking about marriage or kids at all … I’m more of a guy that way.”
Did she change her mind? A rep for Keibler has yet to comment.
