On Friday, one of Nicki Minaj’s dancers was taken to the hospital after being bitten by a snake, TMZ reports. The reptile, a Boa constrictor was on the set of the rehearsal of the rapper’s latest hit, “Anaconda”, for MTV Music Awards on Sunday.
Accidents happen. And if you’re in the visual perimeter of a Boa constrictor, the likelihood of an accident rises considerably. It is the case of one female backup dancer in Nicki Minaj’s dancing crew. According to TMZ, the woman was bitten by the snake during a rehearsal of the “Anaconda” routine, prepared for the performance at the MTV Music Awards.
The woman was taken to the hospital and treated for the bite. However, the snake was not poisonous, so her condition was far from being severe. The snake was put back in its container and removed from the set.
During the onstage performance on Sunday, however, the dancers will have to deal with the serpent again. The MTV Music Awards will be held at The Forum in Inglewood, California. The event will start airing live on August 24, at 9 p.m. EST.
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj took pride in announcing on Twitter that her music video for “Anaconda” topped Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”, having 19.6 million views in 24 hours. Miley’s was watched 12.3 times on the first day from its release, in September 2013.
“”WE BROKE THE RECORD BABY!!!!!” tweeted on Friday. “AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! A new 24 hour RECORD!!!!!!!” Minaj tweeted.
