Zelda Williams returns to Twitter after six weeksAfter six weeks of silence, Zelda Williams, the daughter of the late actor Robin Williams, returns to Twitter and thanks her followers for the support messages.

On September 23, Zelda Williams posted her first messages in weeks. She started with a thank you tweet for all the supporters and Twitter followers who shared her grief and sent her letters of support. “I just want to say thank you for all the stories and letters I’ve been receiving, especially from those who’ve also lost loved ones”, she wrote, adding that even though she doesn’t spend much time online, she read other people’s stories about losing a loved one and that was of great help for her.

25-year-old Zelda announced she was deleting her Twitter account just two days after Robin Williams’ death, due to a huge number of negative comments that she had received regarding her relationship with her father. In response to the nasty comments, she first asked for support to report the abusive online behavior of the senders. Later, she said “I should’ve risen above” and tweeted that she would stay off Twitter “for a good long time, maybe forever”.

Following her withdrawal from the social network, Twitter revealed it had “suspended a number of accounts” that have been reported to have made abusive comments to Zelda Williams.

Zelda is one of the three children that movie star Robin Williams left behind when he passed away, on August 11. She has a 22-year-old brother, Cody, and a half-brother, Zachary, 31, from Williams’ previous marriage.
