Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, as an item, are ancient history. The two tied the knot in 2000 and spent five years together as husband and wife, as what America saw as the picture-perfect Hollywood love. In 2005, the pair notoriously split, with Pitt’s affair with Angelina Jolie, his “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” co-star overlapping.
It’s been ten years since then and things have changed for both of them. Pitt, 51, married Jolie last year and Aniston is engaged to actor Justin Theroux.
During an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning, 45-year-old Aniston was asked about the notorious split from Brad Pitt. “I don’t find it painful”, she answered, adding: “think it’s a narrative that follows you because it’s an interesting headline. It’s more of a media-driven topic.”
When she was asked if she and her ex-husband keep in touch, she said that they exchange good wishes “and all that sort of stuff to each other”, but that they don’t have what you would call a relationship.
Of her three-year-romance with 43-year-old Justin Theroux, Aniston prefers not to reveal much. “We know what our truth is, and [the rumors are] all just static,” she answered, referring to the split rumors that followed after the announcement of their engagement, in August 2012.
