The divorce of reality star Phaedra Parks and her incarcerated husband Apollo Nida is not happening, at least not now, as a judge has decided that the means to it were unfair to the latter. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star will have to regroup, her representative says.
According to a TMZ report on Friday, a judge has tossed out the divorce judgement in the case of Apollo Nida and Phaedra Parks, as it was unfair to Nida. It is not revealed how exactly it was unfair to him but, in a sneak peek from the upcoming RHOA episode, he tells Todd Tucker, Kandi Burrus’ husband, and Peter Thomas, Cynthia Bailey’s former husband, that Phaedra tried to trick him.
“When Phaedra came up here to visit me, she told me everything was put on hold”, Nida said.
Following the court’s judgement, Parks’ representative says that the 43-year-old reality star will regroup and see what her options are at present. “It’s very confusing why a man who is engaged and enjoys frequent visits with his fiancée would work so aggressively to avoid ending his marriage.”
Phaedra and Apollo split in 2014, when he was found guilty for bank fraud and identity theft and was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Their divorce proceedings began in May of that year. In a previous episode of RHOA, Parks confessed to Porsha that she had signed the divorce papers and it done, theoretically. But apparently, she spoke too soon.
“Regardless, Phaedra is reviewing her options with her attorney to determine the most efficient path toward ending this marriage”, her representative added.
As for dating, Phaedra was saying last year in November, that she wass open to dating, but it was not a priority at the time. “I will probably date at some point, but right now I’m just letting it all soak in”, she was revealing during an interview. She did, however, have a clear idea on how a future husband would have to be. “The perfect guy would be a god-fearing guy, a guy who loves children”. And she continued: “You know, if you date me, you date the boys. We come as a big threesome!”
