Ex-ANTM contestant Chris Hernandez smacked his former girlfriend with a Bible, according to her testimony on July 11. The 29-year-old was present in Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday, for charges of assault and harassment.
Christopher Hernandez’ former girlfriend Talia Sperandio testified in court on Tuesday against the 29-year-old former America’s Next Top Model contestant. According to Page Six, the woman recounted an assault which took place New Year’s Day in 2016.
“He slapped me in the face with a Bible and threw things at me”, she told Judge Kathryn Paek through tears. She added that she called the police on him several times and he was never arrested. One year later, he allegedly turned up at her house in Tudor City after 1 a.m. and started shouting that another man was with her in the house and called her a “bitch”.
29-year-old Sperandio said: “I was scared. He was able to push the door open and throw a chair at him.”
In his turn, Hernandez said that he never laid his hands on Talia and that, on the contrary, she was the one assaulting him. He recounted that during the New York Fashion Week, she scratched his cornea.
After the hearing, part of a one-day trial, Judge Paek concluded that Chris Hernandez was not guilty of attempted assault. Still, he was found guilty of harassment. The model will show-up in court again, on August 11, to receive his sentence.
Talia Sperandio is head talent manager at Model Management Group.
