Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams is upset at “motherf***ers” in the media who, covering his divorce story, implied he threw his marriage down the drain for a pretty girl. The actor’s reaction was seen on a short documentary that hip hop mogul Jay-Z released for his new album 4:44.
On July 11, rapper Jay-Z released a second documentary to promote his new album called 4:44. On it, several celebrities, among which Chris Rock, Will Smith, Aziz Ansari, Mareshala Ali, Meek Mill, Chris Paul and Kendrick Lamar are talking relationships. Among them there was also actor Jesse Williams, who is currently going through a bitter divorce from his wife and longtime partner Aryn Drake-Lee.
Williams, 35, addressed the portrayal of his split in the media: “I was in a relationship for 13 years. Thirteen real years. Not five years. Not seven years. Thirteen years”, he starts saying. “And all of a sudden motherf***ers are writing think pieces that I somehow threw a 13-year relationship, like the most painful experience I’ve had in my life, with the person I’ve loved with all of my heart, that I threw a person and my family in the trash because a girl I worked with was cute.” While saying that, the actor looked disgusted by it. He wanted to make it clear that there was no third party that caused his separation from Aryn.
Media speculations of “another woman” started a little after he filed divorce papers, in April of this year. And the woman who was portrayed as possibly William’s new romantic interest was actress Minka Kelly. The rumors turned out to be just that – rumors.
A couple of days ago, TMZ was mentioning court documents revealing that Jesse Williams was taking his wife to court to obtain more visitation rights with his 3-year-old daughter Sadie and 2-year-old son Maceo. He was stating that he gets the children only three hours at a time, which made it impossible for him to have them sleep over.
