Leah Remini and Elisabeth Moss aren’t speaking due to Scientology. The Kevin Can Wait star revealed in a recent interview that Moss believes she is not allowed to speak to her as she is not part of the religious cult anymore.

47-year-old actress Leah Remini gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter, in which she stated that, in her opinion, the fact that she and Elisabeth Moss have drifted apart is due to scientology, a religious group that she turned against a few years ago, but that Moss is still part of.

“Elisabeth Moss believes that she can’t talk to me”, Remini said, explaining that in Scientology there is a concept called “acceptable truth”, which means that “you only say what’s acceptable to the public.”. She added that in Moss’ view, she is “an antisocial personality – because I’ve spoken out against Scientology. So she isn’t allowed to talk to me.” And being aware of it, Remini doesn’t want to put Moss in a difficult position. She says, however, that if the tables were turned, she would still say hi. Or congratulate her on her award wins.

“I don’t hold anything against Elisabeth Moss other than she’s continuing to support a group that is abusive and destroying families,” the actress concluded.

This past weekend, at the TCA Awards, Leah Remini won Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming. When she went on to receive the award and give her speech, Elisabeth Moss, who was also in attendance, left the room.

“Scientologist Elisabeth Moss left the room while Leah Remini accepted her TCA award. Hope she still heard what Leah said. #TCA17 @LeahRemini”, tweeted on August 5 Ellen Thompson, the wife of Bleacher Report founder Dave Nemetz.

The two ladies will bump into each other again at the Emmy Awards. While Leah Remini is nominated for her docu-series Scientology and the Aftermath, Elisabeth Moss has a nomination for her role on The Handmaid’s Tale.
