According to a representative for the singer, Aaron Carter entered rehab to improve his health and overall wellness state.

This year so far, Aaron Carter made headlines with the trouble in his personal life rather than his music. So, the 29-year-old singer has finally decided that enough is enough. A representative for the “I Want Candy” performer has released a statement to the press:

“Aaron has decided to enter a facility to improve his health and work on his overall wellness. He is going to do this privately and focus all his attention on being the best person and performer possible”, read the statement, given to E!. “He is grateful for the support and love from his fans and looks forward to coming back stronger than ever before.”

Aaron also tweeted to his fans about his intention to get better. “Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.” He also mentioned his family “had nothing to do” with his decision. “I am strong, that’s why I made this decision. No one could’ve forced me. None of you even know my reasons for this. It’s called stress.”

Carter then elaborated, explaining in a longer post that he will be “disappearing for a while to work on [himself].” “Most importantly, my stressors haven’t subsided to my family and this year has been crazy and I need some time off from all of it”, wrote the singer, adding that on October 27, he would be releasing a gift to his fans – a new version for “I Want Candy”.

There is no info on when Aaron Carter entered rehab, but his last tweets date from Friday, September 22. Also, the singer announced through his last tweets that he will be going away for the rest of the year.

Then, in July, he was arrested for DUI and drug possession. A later interview showed a sleep-deprived, stressed Aaron, who broke down in tears while talking about the arrest.

In August, Carter revealed he was bisexual and broke-up with his girlfriend of one year, Madison Parker.
