Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are almost sure to perform together at the Super Bowl halftime show in February of 2018, several media reports confirm. The two music stars, who were a couple more than 15 years ago, would meet again, onstage.
If you’re not familiar with the 2002 highly-publicized romance between former Disney stars Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, you might say “what’s the big deal?”. Fans from both camps would be over the moon with excitement to see these two interacting under very own eyes. This, after a love that ended badly in 2002, when these America’s sweethearts called it quits. At the time, there was speculation that Britney had cheated. What was more important was that their break-up seemed to mark the beginning of Britney’s downfall, which reached its bottom in 2007.
It’s been years now since the “Baby…One More Time” singer has been back on her feet, making music and touring – and also being the best-paid X Factor Judge ever.
Timberlake, on the other side, has a lot to take pride in himself. His career took off in the film industry from the time he was dating Cameron Diaz. He is now married to actress Jessica Biel and have a son, born in April 2015. He is one of the highest-paid musicians in the world, according to Billboard.
Now, according to the Inquisitr, sources close to Justin say that the 36-year-old singer is one step away from signing the deal with NFL, to perform at the 14-minute Super Bowl halftime show. And Britney Spears has been one of the first artists to approach Timberlake’s team for a collaboration on the show. In other words, Spears is interested in becoming Timberlake’s guest and perform together.
NFL is in talks with Justin Timberlake after their first choice, Jay-Z, turned down the gig.
The NFL championship is set to take place in Minneapolis on February 4.
