Kevin Spacey reveals he is gay in the light of the latest development regarding his name being linked to one of the latest sexual harassment stories. The actor apologized to Anthony Rapp for what he calls drunken sexual advances that the latter claims to have occurred years ago.

Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp, 46, tweeted on Sunday that Kevin Spacey sexually harassed him when he was only 14 years of age. Even though he shared the details of the story as early as 2001 in an interview for The Advocate, Rapp kept the name of the harasser a secret. Until now.

“I came forward with my story, standing on the shoulders of the many courageous women and men who have been speaking out to shine a light and hopefully make a difference, as they have done for me.” he wrote, adding: “Everything I wanted to say about my experience is in that article, and I have no further comment about it at this time.”

Actress Patricia Arquette applauded Rapp’s courage to come out with his story.

In Rapp’s story, Spacey tried to seduce him. “He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me”.

Both Rapp and Spacey say about the latter that he was drunk. Even though, Spacey, in his response to Rapp’s story, says he does not remember the encounter. “It would have been over 30 years ago. But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior”.

With the occasion, Kevin Spacey chose to come out as gay, explaining that he has had relationships with both sexes throughout his lifetime, but has now chosen to live as gay man. “I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behavior”, the 58-year-old concluded.
