66-year-old Tom Petty is currently on life support at the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital. The musician was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest at his home on Malibu. The EMTs rushed him into the ER and managed to get a pulse.
The news was first reported by TMZ.
People from Petty’s family and friends do not wish to comment at the time being.
The musician appeared to be in good shape last week, on Monday, when he performed at the last concert of his tour, which took place at the Hollywood Bowl.
Tom Petty is best known as the frontman of tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He sold more than 80 million records worldwide, being one of the best-selling musicians of all times.
Petty is married to his current wife, Dana York, since June 2001. He has two children, both girls, from his first marriage, to Jane Benyo: 43-year-old daughter Adria, who is a movie director, and daughter AnnaKim Violette, who is an artist. Petty’s first marriage lasted 22 years.
