Kim Kardashian fired her assistant of over four years, Stephanie Shepherd. Sources close to the reality star says they aren’t even speaking anymore.

29-year-old Stephanie Shepherd became Kim Kardashian’s personal assistant and, in time, a very good friend of hers, in June 2013, a short while before Kim and Kanye’s first baby, North, was born. The two were very close and Kardashian was entrusting her with a lot of personal chores.

Shepherd was reportedly in good relations with all the Kardashian sisters and with all the family for that matter. However, thing went south lately and she was fired. A source revealed to People the reason why the two parted ways:

“Kim made a decision to let Stephanie go” because, even though “she was a good assistant”, she couldn’t handle her new tasks. “Stephanie wanted to transition into a larger role with Kim’s brand and businesses. It just didn’t work”, says the source, explaining that Kim “gave her the chance but after a short period of time it became clear that Stephanie just didn’t have the knowledge to take on a role like that”.

Stephanie Shepherd remained friends with the other Kardashian sisters but, according to the same source, “she and Kim aren’t really speaking”.

Several issues regarding the relationship between the reality star and her assistant were brought-up during a recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, in which Kim told Kourtney she thinks it is weird how close she is with Stephanie.

“Do you find it weird that you’re like ‘wifey’ with my assistant?”. Asked Kim. Kourtney asked if that was bothering to her. Kim answered: “Kind of. What if all of a sudden I became BFF with Megan? I think you would definitely be like, ‘That’s weird’”.

Moreover, Stephanie confided in Kourtney about her job, telling her she was not satisfied career-wise. To which Kim reacted with shock and said she has given Stephanie other things to focus on, like the Kimoji app. “But I do think it’s like inappropriate for her to talk to you and not to me”, she concluded.
