Two days after Charles Manson’s death notice, actress Mia Farrow took to Twitter to pay a tribute to her late friend and Manson victim, Sharon Tate.

72-year-old Mia Farrow shared on social media a tribute to her good friend Sharon Tate, who was brutally murdered by adepts of Charles Manson over 48-years ago. This, after on Sunday, November 19, it was announced that Manson passed away, of natural causes, at the age of 83, while serving a life sentence.

“Charlie Manson is dead -good riddance”, the actress tweeted.

“Thoughts with my sweet, beautiful friend, Sharon Tate and with each of Manson’s victims”, she later posted.

Actress Sharon Tate was married with movie director Roman Polanski for about a year and 8-month-pregnant with her first child, when the murder occurred. She and her friends Jay Serbing, Wojciech Frykowski and Abigail Folger were returning to her Los Angeles home from a late dinner, when they were attacked by members of the Charles Manson’s Family. They were all killed and their bodies were discovered the next morning, by the housekeeper. When police arrived at the scene of the crime they discovered yet another body, in a car in the driveway. It was and 18-year-old named Steven Parent, who came to visit the property’s caretaker. He had died from gunshots to the chest.

The “Tate murders” were counting only a part of the killings carried out by the Manson Family. Several of its members have been charged with murder and instigation to murder and received the capital punishment. However, due to the fact the state of California renounced the death penalty several years later, their sentence was commuted to life in prison.

So was the case of the head of the operation, Charles Manson, who, at the time of the “Tate murders”, was 35-years-old and already imprisoned twice before. After more than 4 decades behind bars and 12 appeals for parole, Manson died, reportedly of natural causes, at the age of 83.

A recent article in The Times writes that Manson thought he would live forever.
