The death certificate of Charles Manson reveals the cult killer’s cause of death: cardiac arrest and complications of colon cancer.
According to the papers obtained by TMZ, Charles Manson’s death was triggered by multiple causes:
– complications from metastatic colon cancer
– cardiac arrest
– respiratory failure
Charles Manson passed away on November 19, at a hospital in Bakersfield, California, Where he had been transferred from the Corcoran State Prison, where he was serving a life sentence. He was 83-years-old.
At the time, the California Department of corrections released the a statement saying that Manson “died of natural causes”.
Manson, a the head of the criminal cult known under the name of the Manson Family, was charged with seven murders and sentenced to death row. When, in 1969, the capital punishment was placed outside the law, his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment.
Throughout the years, Manson made several attempts to receive parole, which he never did. Every time, the parole board came to the conclusion the inmate did not make enough efforts to prove his behavior has changed. Several times, he was caught carrying weapons.
Of the famous Family Manson killers who were put behind bars, only Charles Manson and Susan Atkins died. She also had complications from cancer; in her case, brain cancer.
Patricia Krenwinkel, 69, Tex Watson, 71, and Bobby Beausoleil, 70, are still serving life in prison for murder and murder conspiracy.
The only one who stands a chance of seeing life outside the prison walls is 68-year-old Leslie Van Houten. She was granted parole by a panel of state commissioners in Chino in September of this year.
