In a recent interview, singer Fergie talks about her addiction to crystal meth, which she struggled with before becoming a part of the Black Eyed Peas.

Now 42-years-old, Fergie has left some dark times behind her. Recently, she opened-up about some things in her troubled past to iNews. The Black Eyed Peas singer revealed she was addicted to crystal meth and the effects were horrifying.

“At my lowest point, I was [suffering from] chemically induced psychosis and dementia. I was hallucinating on a daily basis”, she said. “I’d just be sitting there, seeing a random bee or bunny.”

Some hallucinations, of a paranoid nature, were about the CIA, the FBI and a SWAT monitoring her. At one point, she tried to lose them by hiding in a church. “They tried to kick me out, because I was moving down the aisles in this crazy way, as I thought there was an infrared camera in the church trying to check for my body. I bolted past the altar into a hallway and two people were chasing me.”

It took her one year to get clean and for her brain to get rewired properly.

Looking back, Fergie concludes that drugs were fun for a while, until they took control of her whole life. “The drugs thing, it was a hell of a lot of fun… until it wasn’t.”

Fergie is currently married to actor Josh Duhamel. They tied the knot in 2009. However, the couple announced their separation on September of this year.

Fergie and Josh have a son together, Axl Jack, who is 4.

While Duhamel, 45, has recently directed The Buddy Games, Fergie has been pretty busy herself, with the release of her first solo album in over a decade. “I’ve just released my first solo album in 11 years, and I’m out promoting it. So there’s a lot going on.”, she said.
