Meryl Streep confirmed that Mariah Carey has stolen her seat at the Golden Globes on Sunday. The actress told Jimmy Kimmel: “That b**** stole my seat”.

Now don’t go thinking that Meryl Streep is anything but a lady. She did say on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show: “That b**** stole my seat”, referring to Mariah, but she did it jokingly, when Kimmel asked her whether it was true what he had heard.

She went on explaining how it all occurred. “Yeah, I came over and there she was, you know, next to Spielberg, sucking up”, Streep said. She continued: “So, I said: ‘Go!’. She said: ‘Oh my God, they made me sit down because, you know, we were moving.’ They make you, you know, they say 5,4,3,2,1! Wherever you are, everybody has to drop to their seats.”

“You were left out”, concluded Kimmel.

“Yeah, I was left out. I said ‘No, no, no, stay there. I’ll sit on your lap”, Streep continued.

Streep said that at her table, there were, aside from Spielberg, Tom Hank and his wife Rita, Stacie Sneider (FOX), Amy Pascal (FOX), and more.

Mariah Carey is not the one to remain mum. She tweeted apologies to the Hollywood star.

“Got caught mingling on the way to the loo during a commercial break.. took the first seat available, happens to be right next to Steven Spielberg”, the singer tweeted on Monday, adding: Cut to next commercial break, guess who comes back to her seat…”
