Morena Baccarin has agreed to pay $5,000 per month to her ex-husband, Austin Chick, as part of their divorce settlement.
Morena Baccarin and husband Austin Chick have reached a settlement in their divorce. From the papers obtained by People, it is reported that the 38-year-old actress will pay Austin spousal support of $5,000 each month, until the end of 2018.
The couple’s child, 4-year-old son Julius, will remain in the physical and legal custody of both parents, while the Gotham star will pay another $3,500 per month to Chick for the child’s support, until he turns 18.
In her turn, from the settlement, Morena was left with the apartment the family owns in Brazil, the house in Los Angeles and the 2001 Lexus IS 300. Chick will permanently move to New York with their son and will keep the property they own there.
As for liquidities, that was not all. In addition to the spousal and child support, Baccarin gave Chick money she made from her projects in the last 5 years: Deadpool, Gotham Malevelent, and The good Wife. This meant a $406,000 cash-in for Chick.
Baccarin and Chick have been struggling with the custody battle for approximately two years. The couple tied the knot in 2011 and stayed married until 2015. He was the one filing for divorce, in June of that year.
Four months later, Baccarin shared she was pregnant with her Gotham co-star, Ben Mackenzie. The same month, she was allowed by a judge to move Julius with her in New York, where she was filming at the time.
Two months later, another judge ordered her to pay her estranged husband monthly spousal support of $20,349. She also had to pay him an additional $2,693 in child support for Julius, as they still shared physical custody.
Baccarin, 38, and Mackenzie, 39, welcomed baby Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan, last year in March. The two married on June 2, 2017 in Brooklyn, NY.
