SAG Awards 2013 winners announced

The SAG Awards for 2013 had its winners recently announced. “Argo” swept off their feet the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 27th, CBS News reports. Ben Affleck’s movie continues its pre-Oscars steam roll through the entertainment business awards. After winning best drama and best director at the Golden Globes, “Argo” claimed the highest honor, for overall cast performance, at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. This recognition comes only a day after the movie was deemed Best Film at the 24th Annual Producers Guild Awards, an event that usually serves as an echo for the Academy Awards. If the momentum doesn’t wear off before the Oscars, then “Argo” might very well become the fourth movie in the history of the gala to claim the Best Movie award in the absence of a nomination for its director. Best Actress award went to Jennifer Lawrence for her performance alongside Bradley Cooper in “Silver Linings Playbook”, while Daniel Day-Lewis was deemed once again Best Actor for his role as Abraham Lincoln in the Civil War homonym movie, just as he was at the Golden Globes. “It occurred to me — it was an actor that murdered Abraham Lincoln. And therefore, somehow it is only so fitting that every now and then an actor tries to bring him back to life again,”...
