Pokemon X and Y to debut simultaneously in October

Pokemon X and Y are scheduled to debut simultaneously in October, Nintendo recently announced. The first ever to be released 3D Pokemon games will be available worldwide at the 3DS. The Pokemon series will include, come October, the gaming company’s first 3D entries built to meet the requirements of the 3DS hardware. In a Nintendo Direct presentation released on January 8th, the company showcased 3 brand new starter Pokemon, several 3D generated backgrounds and a few old favorite monsters revamped for 3D action.     The 6th generation of the long running RPG series will introduce the starter Pokemon: Chespin, a grass-type chipmunk who wears a hat, Fennekin, a fire-type fox and Froakie, a water-type frog. Setting aside the most exciting part about the new series, namely the 3D feature, Pokemon fans are also thrilled to know that the X and Y will launch globally at the same time, without the localization times that used to run long for every Nintendo release in the past. Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade 2012

The 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade brought together music, TV and sports stars in celebrating the holiday and the event’s 86th anniversary. The annual parade is probably the most suitable way to kick off Turkey Day in a traditional, colorful and cheerful manner. The three-hour long display of balloons, pop culture floats and marching bands features appearances and performances from a variety of celebrities each year, and 2012 got its share. Bystanders got to watch floats pass by, carrying Jimmy Fallon, Hoda Kotb, Whoopi Goldberg, Dora the Explorer, the U.S. Olympic gymnasts Kyla Ross, Jordyn Wieber, Alexandra Raisman, Gabby Douglas and McKayla Maroney, Cody Simpson, Rachel Crow, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Chris Isaac, The Wanted, Trace Adkins, Megan and Elizabeth Mace, Don McLean, Neon Trees, Colbie Caillat and Jennette McCurdy. Famous and beloved cartoon characters also attended the festivities.
