Robin Williams president of the United States

Hollywood icon Robin Williams will play the role of the president of the United States in the upcoming movie “The Butler”. The actor will embody Dwight D. Eisenhower in a biography of Eugene Allen, who spent over three decades at the White House, serving eight families of presidents.     We are used to see Robin Williams in romantic comedies, in which he usually plays heartbreaking roles, such as Mrs. Doubtfire, where he dressed-up like a woman in order to save his marriage and be near his children. His characters, whether comics or dramatics, share the shaggy look that Williams himself grew fond of over the years. His role in “The Butler” made his hair fall. 60–year-old Williams gets bald, playing President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Lee Daniel’s “The Butler” is the biography of White House butler Eugene Allen, who spent 30 years in the service of eight American presidents. The cast is not fully revealed, but among the names starring in the movie, there are John Cusack, Vanessa Redgrave, Terrence Howard, Oprah Winfrey, Forest Whitaker and Jane Fonda. The filming starts in a few days, in New Orleans....

Janet Jackson, “furious” with Paris for acting

Sources speaking to Us Weekly have revealed that Janet Jackson is “furious” with Michael’s daughter Paris, for acting. The reason is far from being a selfish one, though. Paris Jackson, the 14-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson, has accepted a role in the upcoming movie “Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys”. The teenage daughter of the King of Pop is beyond happy to make the first step towards the big screen limelight, but her aunt, singer Janet Jackson, who played in a number of movies herself, is not too keen about it. According an insider speaking to the Us Weekly, Janet feels that Paris’s decision to start her acting career at this time “goes against Michael’s wishes to keep his kids out of the limelight until age 18”. As both her and her late brother Michael did not have the chance of enjoying their childhood, Janet “thinks Paris should enjoy being a kid and possibly go to college”, the same source adds.     “Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys” is a film adaptation of the fantasy book series written by Dennis H. Christen. In it, Paris will play Lundon O’Malley, one of the human characters in the animated movie in which an ancient sea-magic turns a dolphin into a human, an evil spell changes a teenager into a dragonfly and a once good and carrying jellyfish queen...

Bruce Springsteen’s sound, cut off. Musicians react.

On Saturday, during the Hard Rock Calling event, which was held in London, Bruce Springsteen’s sound was cut off during a performance alongside Sir Paul McCartney. According to the Associated Press, several musicians – Steven van Zandt, Lady Antebellum – reacted, criticizing the organizers and the Westminster City Council for pulling the plug too early. At the end of Springsteen’s three-hour show at the Hyde Park in London, the rocker invited on the stage Sir Paul McCartney. After singing two duets, the sound was cut off abruptly. Lady Antebellum, the country band that was the support act for The Boss at the concert, was disappointed by the way the organizers managed the sound problem. “I’m sure there was definitely a reason. I hear that they had a very strict curfew in Hyde Park”, said lead singer Hillary Scott of the sound incident. The Hard Rock calling organizers explained that they were concerned for the public’s safety and that was what caused the unpleasant move. “It was unfortunate that the three hour plus performance by Bruce Springsteen was stopped right at the very end”, a statement on their website said, “but the curfew is laid down by the authorities in the interest of the public’s health and safety. Road closures around Hyde Park are put in place at specific times to make sure everyone can exit the area in safety”....
