Mark Ruffalo: a 50-year-old Hulk?

Do you think Mark Ruffalo will make a good Hulk, even at 50? The actor, who portrayed the green angry giant in “The Avengers”, says that if it were to be made a movie about his character, he would say yes to the part. If you have already seen “The Avengers”, you know the temperature the action was developed at. When the mighty heroes of the world are gathered for a fight against evil, things cannot go smoothly. The Ironman (Robert Downey Jr.), the incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor, the God of Thunder and Captain America joined their forces to combat evil aliens threatening the peace on earth. The creators of the movie could not ignore the comic side of these characters (even the bad guy, Loki, had his own sense of humor) and created them more complex than just plain action heroes. Of them, Hulk, played by Ruffalo, was one of the most complex works in the movie. This was because the actor knew exactly how his green giant must have felt. He was as angry as him, at one point in his life. “When I was a young actor, if you came to my apartment, you would have seen pictures and photos hung in the most bizarre places, where they were covering holes in the wall from auditions that I didn’t get”, the actor admits. “I’m no...

Charlie Harper back on “Two and a Half Men”

Playboy Charlie Harper is back on “Two and a Half Men”. The character played by actor Charlie Sheen, was brutally killed in the first episode of Season 9. But in the episode “Why We Gave Up Women”, he comes back to hunt his brother Alan. You might find his appearance a bit odd, though…. In the episode “Why We Gave Up Women” of the famous “Two And A Half Men” sitcom, Alan is hospitalized after suffering a heart attack. It is there that Alan starts being hunted by the spirit of his late brother, Charlie Harper. However, the shock is not mostly because he sees a ghost but because the ghost, even though Harper, is a “she”. The late playboy appears to Alan in the shape of a woman. The character, played by actress Kathy Bates, explains that she is now in hell and is forced to live like an old overweight woman as part of his punishment for treating ladies the way he did. “Two and a Half Men” creator Chuck Lorre, who fired Charlie Sheen a year and a half ago because of several misconducts at the job (including drinking, being late, picking-up fights), decided to revive Harper after killing him (so that Sheen could never reprise his role) and was very impressed by Bates’ performance. In fact, he is thinking of making it a recurring character,...

Francis Lawrence to direct “The Hunger Games” sequel

Lionsgate has chosen a new director for the “Hunger Games” sequel. Francis Lawrence will direct the second part of the movie, “Catching Fire”. After taking into consideration a long list of famous film directors, including Tomas Alfredson, Stephen Daldry, Bennett Miller and Tony Scott, Lionsgate studio has decided upon one name: Francis Lawrence. Lawrence is the director behind some famous movies, such as “I Am Legend”, starring Will Smith and “Water for Elephants”, with Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson in the main roles. Plus, he’s got experience in special effects movies. Lionsgate’s second choice would have been director Bennett Miller, famous for movies such as “Moneyball” and “Capote”. However, he was not a real candidate for the job, as he was already involved in another project (“Foxcatcher”). Lionsgate parted ways with the director of “The Hunger Games”, Gary Ross, as a result of several misunderstanding they were not able to fix. One of them was about the financial agreement and the other was about the time that Ross would have had at disposal to make the movie. The shootings for “Catching Fire” will start in August and the movie will hit theaters next year, in November....
